Dissolution - Pirate!England x reader Prologue
Twilight slowly crept in unnoticed, hidden by a blushing veil of evening rose.
A figure stood ahead upon the shore, falling victim to God’s blazing-amber eye, becoming pray to the celestial beams of light causing a golden blindness. Titan’s fiery wheel began to sink in an array of smudged warmth, bidding farewell.
The man stared sightlessly into the flaming, remote night sky, not wanting to allow the heavenly globe to abandon him and take with it the last vestige of hope.
The sinking orb’s rays bathed his entire body in honeycomb shimmers, enhancing the vibrancy of his blonde hair while fading out the colour of his crimson coat.
The sky ignited a calm gradient of red and violet, and the remaining light slicing through the clouds cast a strong, luminous glow onto the soft waves. Whispers of the sea breeze swirled majestically, inviting the ends of his coat to dance with nature’s music. The air seeped through the small, isolated patches of grass that were lu

The door was already open.
Its noble rebellion towards the abuse he received was no longer recognisable as the old defiance, carved into its thick wooden planks, was destroyed by the same hands that ripped it cruelly from its rusted hinges.
You walked forward, staring at it for no longer than a moment before turning your head to face the sea.
The cool, silky mist pressed herself against your body, stroking your tense skin with soft caresses as her chilling vapour began collapse onto one’s shoulders, weighing them painfully down. The soft touches were stubborn yet pitiful, they heard your muscles desperate wails of distress even though your outer layers tried to hush them, scorning them for attracting the unwanted sympathy that the fog provided. Your recently shed tears were still visible; their ragged trails lay forgotten, abandoned. Though, their aching burden that they held was still clinging onto your heart as you felt a dull throb in your hollow chest, a reminder that it was

“__(f/n)__!” Alice’s worried voice faded, your vision blurred as the world around you swirled into a haze of smudged ebony. You began to slip out of reality, again. Your hands travelled to your face, covering your eyes and you fell to the ground. Your actions were sluggish, your heaving breathing that echoed and your heart began to speed up, banging against your rib cage with brute force as if in attempt to break free. Everything slowed down. Your numbed senses were immune to all until a pair of arms enveloped you with a firm grip and brought you back.
“No!" was all that you chanted, anxiety began to invade once more, her intent to control and manipulate your conscious to her will. The inhuman motion suffocated your mind, lacerating any last surviving part with viscous, bitter strikes.
Alice held your recoiling form, her face contorted, panic began to show. She was frightened of your atypical behaviour.
"This has to be a joke, no way is this real!” You tr

You were falling.
Spiralling downwards as sun-glow and amber enveloped you, swirling closely in a blurred tango. Your eyes strained to open against a majestic sea of vibrant warmth and jewelled colour, fluttering as the day star’s arrows of radiance sent the ocean a-dazzle in an array of scattered golden shimmers.
Was this reality, or not?
Your usually lush hair faded in the sun’s incandescence as it cascaded in unnatural waves, exhausted by the rush of air that whipped your body with cold menace. In the distance, your eyes fell upon two figures haloed by the sun’s beam of fluorescent light, silhouetting them starkly against the sea front. The elder one, head bowed, clutched a small child in a secure, tender grip.
Your presence seemed to alert the smaller child as he suddenly looked up with confused Columbian blue tinted eyes and turned to the elder for an explanation. The elder seemed to notice the child’s disturbance and immediately gazed up too, gasping i

School was over, it was finally time to go home where you could relax. You was free of school work, being mocked and especially free of your demon teacher, that is until tomorrow, but you would worry about that later.
“Hey, __(f/n)__?” You turned to your friend, Mia. You met last year when you were paired up together in science, even though you walked home with her every day, you never considered her your closest or even best friend, something was missing in your friendship. A certain bond that other best friends shared. Mia was simply beautiful. Adorned with tanned skin, accompanied by luxurious dirty blonde hair with natural light blonde highlights scattered in it. You had always been jealous of Mia, her confidence, her intelligence but what completed your envy were her eyes. Her eyes were those of a goddess, blue with swirls of turquoise and speckles of aqua that decorated her outer iris.
Maybe is was your natural jealousy that stood in the way of your friendship, who k

Icy clumps of stone protruded into your exposed and tired back. The cobbled rock floor was grinding numbingly against your spine, imprinting the uneven shapes of the stones onto one’s, thinly covered, bare back. You could feel your flesh’s agonising weeps of protest as the harsh ridges clawed into your back, leaving harsh rouge marks. You felt a sharp ache emerging along your spine, bruises of multitude hues were beginning to form, and garnish purple was being smudged across your back as your bodies bloody splotched tears of throe were revealed.
In spite of that, you remained on the ground, collapsed from exhaustion. Your adrenaline you had encountered earlier was fading and dilating within your aroused branches of life. Nevertheless, a dull throb still existed, your jugular pulsing fiercely.
Your breath became slower, more controlled as your lungs simmered pleasantly compared to the burning sensation that erupted within them before. Your hands soon fell to your sides, your

A voiceless tranquility, that was all you heard. The distinct void had eaten away your weakened conscience until, there was just a numbing and incoherent voice . Your eyes were locked upon your scattered hair that drifted achingly slow to the floor, to remain forgotten among the crevasses that were embedded into the gravel. The rain water, that laid in between the cracks of the ground suffocated your hair, tugging it into the depths of the untamed puddles, gnawing away its vibrancy. You turned, forcing yourself not to look any longer. There was no time for regret, time is too slow for those who wait, yet too long for those who grieve.
The knife was still within your damp palms, firmly pressed against your hand. You hesitantly glanced at it, wondering whether to leave it where you found it, or to take it with you. Your mother always told you not to play with knifes, or anything sharp for that matter.
“Wait! Ah, careful darling, you could poke someone's eye out with tha

"Where I’m I?"
Darkness infested your mind, suffocating your muddled thoughts. Your eyes strained themselves in a weak attempt to open, but your vision was blurred, fusing the outside world into a smudged canvas of ink. All you could see was the raven canopy above, stained with white luminescence from the twinkling stars that adorned the twilight firmament. The moon was low and released a dim glow that haloed the navy clouds that swirled with the air breeze. The night sky was twisted and merged into one shade as your sight was shrouded by a cloud of pure black; it blocked most of your vision with teasing hands. The light was too stark and pained your eyes, which responded by shutting.
You tried to sit up but your limbs fell victim to bursts of pain that exploded within you, you tried to soothe the throbbing parts with your arms, but they were disorientated as they slowly welcomed my conscious back. It seemed to slowly creep back to your vulnerable self.
How It Began"God, your two o'clock is here."
"I have a two o'clock?"
"He's been here since 7:45. I figured it's only polite to... sir."
God sighed. "Fine, send him in."
While He waited God cleared His desk of papers and blueprints; no need for outsiders to see His plans. Soon enough the door to His office opened and God stood, smiled, held out a hand towards one of the two visitor's chairs.
"God! Great stuff you're doing in sector 2-7-0! Great stuff!"
The man's hands were clammy, his handshake limp. Rumpled suit, porkpie hat, briefcase... oh Jes-- oh dear, a salesman. God's smile slipped a little but He soldiered on gamely. With luck He could shoo the poor guy away in a few minutes.
"So, what can I do for you?"
The man sat, briefcase across his knees. "Sector 2-7-0! Everyone's talking about it! What do you call it? Man and merman?"
"Man and woman, actually. And thanks. But we're pretty busy around here, and..."
"Oh! Right! No time for the wicked, eh?" The salesman winked and popped his briefcase,
